What is Servant Leadership? Servant Leadership is a leadership philosophy in which the main goal of the leader is to serve. This is different from traditional leadership where the leader’s focus is the thriving of their company or organization. It shares power, puts the needs of others first, and helps people develop and perform as highly as possible.

Servant leadership is embedded into the very DNA of Carson-Newman University. Our mission is to equip students to be educated citizens and worldwide servant leaders. As such, the Servant Leadership Certificate is a great starting point for those seeking to learn more about servant leadership or those seeking to refine their pre-existing skillset. This program offers students a chance to learn ethical leadership, how to build a collaborative culture, and how to be a positive influence on those within their sphere of influence.
